Science. Far too often, one man's meat, another man's poison. Controversy, argument, debate, vested interests, prejudice, misinterpretation, discussion, etc.
The more controversial a subject, the more the waters get muddied.
Water fluoridation, and fluoride itself, are subjects which suffer from many different angles. The worst of these is self-interest, with fluoride industries desperate to discredit anything which threatens their position in society and the marketplace.
There are endless examples, not just in the field of fluoride science, of vested interests going to extraordinary lengths to conceal the truth, just so they can protect their lot.
Everything can be employed to attack those who want to uphold the truth. Politics, money, blackmail, threats, even violence.
It makes you wonder who you should believe when someoine makes a bold claim about something. If the claim is going to ruffle feathers, then it sure as Hell is going to be dismantled, discredited and destroyed in every way, shape and form. Doesn't matter how credible it is, if it upsets the establishment, don't expect any medals - just grief.
Not a great introduction, is it? But it's the truth. We are endeavouring to bring you information that is based upon good science, honesty, and importance.
Perhaps those of us who do not have to suffer the worst the establishment can do to us, in one way, is a blessing. But at the same time a curse as we are largely ignored and discredited.
But nothing will change. Leopards do not change their spots, and the higher echelons of vested scientific interests will remain. Collectively, they are the Babylonian Whore of the scientific world. Nothing will be below them and they will willingly sell their virtue to the highest bidder. They are the dregs of society, the monsters in our midst, the demons that plague the world of science
We make no apologies for saying all of this, simply because it is the sordid truth. It is the world we live in.
As for those 'prestigious' societies and associations which are so commonly known, and demand respect (they are mostly not entitled to), will always have the last word. They will always be the ones who claim to have such great knowledge, power and influence, that they cannot be deposed, or successfully exposed. This much is true. The rest of us just get on with doing what we think is right - for whatever it is worth.
